Booking conditions and information
Licenses
The Belle du Midi river cruisers are licensed for the Canal du Midi. A boat licence is not required by you to drive the boat. You will be issued with a temporary navigation permit valid for the duration of your cruise.
Arrival & Departure
Rive 34 & Rive 40 operate Saturday to Saturday.
The boat is normally available from 4pm on the first day of your holiday and must be returned and vacated by 9am on your last day.
A free demonstration is given at the time of takeover to explain the controls of the boat and its equipment.
Fuel & water
Your tank will be full of diesel and is usually sufficient for two weeks cruising.
There is a charge for diesel used payable on return of the boat.
The water tank will also be full and is usually sufficient for 2/3 days. Refill at water points along the canal (there may be a small charge at some water points).
Map guide
Map guides at a cost of €25.00 (includes postage & packing) will be sent to you on receipt of your completed booking form and deposit. This enables you to plan your trip before arrival.
Cleaning deposit
A €100 cleaning/late return deposit is taken on the day of departure (cash/credit card) and is returned on the final day if the boat is returned on time and in a clean and tidy condition.
Insurance
Personal liability insurance is not included. We strongly advise you to take out additional all risk insurance to cover your personal belongings, cancellation and medical insurance.
In the event of cancellation the hirer is required to do so in writing. More than 16 weeks before departure 10% of the invoice total is retained by the company. Between 8 and 16 weeks before departure, 20%  of the invoice total is retained and less then 8 weeks before departure, 100% of the invoice total is retained.
Damage waiver
We operate a one off Non-returnable damage waiver of €100.00 to cover you in the event of any damage/loss or accident to the boat or its inventory during your holiday.
You are responsible for the boat and it's safe navigation. In the event of an accident or damage you must notify us immediately with full details and names and addresses of other persons involved and witnesses.
What to bring
Torch.
Soft bags are easier than cases to store on the boat.
Casual clothes, sensible rubber soled deck shoes.
Hats and suncream.
Note
A 12 volt hairdryer is supplied on board (Your mains hairdryer will not work on the boat).
Mobile phones can only be charged from 12 volt lighter socket on the boat.
